Miniatures, sculpts animations and designs

Here is the first upload of my pro practices blog.

In the following posts will be various sculptures, designs and some animation elements along with my thought process as I explain the why of these certain pieces being here along with methods, materials and scales etc.

The main type of art I gravitate towards is various forms of sculpture and model making.

There is a lot of fantastical characters included but to show my skills off I will also be showing some realism in later posts too.

Yoda Miniature 15mm sculpted in Green stuff (kneadatite) over a shaped paper clip. Made as a test to see if I could do it this tiny scale.

A Games Workshop inspired miniature named a "Plague Bearer" 28mm demon character made from green studio Sculpey and plasticard over wire.

The Greater Demon of Nurgle sculpt is around 5inches tall and based on the G.W/Forgeworld range of miniatures. this took me around 10 months (part time to build) and is based on a character that has alot of detail.
This piece has stood the test of time for quality since I made it back in 2007 and I am very proud of it as a breakthrough in personal creative accomplishment.

Here are 48 images I took as a research trip to the woods. Gone are the days ware I would simply "Google it" I wanted the real deal so I went with camera in hand.....

This particular glade was quite sparse and not a true wood as one would call it but it was great just to have a look around at simple things like how leaves had fallen on the ground, the ivy that had grown up around trees and having a desire to make that a part of the animation and art images.

Lovely close ups of bark and textures. the knot looks a little like the deathly Hallows symbol...

Fearns. I had forgotten about simple vegitations and particular plants....
My animation will be a simple version of this but it was great to be there....

Leaf close ups. there are so many shades of leaves in Autumn.

In the story there is a felled tree so this one made it in.

Twigs, leaves plants Fearns and trees with Ivy and shrubs...

You cant beat being there and experiencing it. Nothing comes close.

I wasnt sure if I would include the canopy of trees in my animation but I took images anyway.

Perhaps I may use my own photography with the colours dialed up a bit as the back drop to fill in the blue screen.
